Middle Park put up a good showing but ultimately came away empty handed in firey match decided by a single goal.
It started well for MPFC, who were playing some good stuff in the first half hour sweeping the ball from left to right. Best chance with Dave Godden sweetly curling a shot from the edge of the box that hit the top of the bar.
The second half started promisingly enough before the entire match, somehow, descended into a bit of a fracas. Three players ultimately sent off. Their first player was sent off (abuse to the ref I think) and in the insuing arguments between ref, player and one of their spectators, we lost concentration and they scored a header following a free-kick. The incident with the goalkeeper Joe was slightly unfortunate. Joe came out and challenged strongly, winning the ball first, and secondly some of the man. Their chap took exception and put him in a headlock. Both players off for fighting rather than the initial challenge but in fairness to Joe (who is not a dirty player) it was unfortunate as he had eyes only for the ball and hardly had time to defend himself from the attack.
The game had still some life in it and chances fell to both teams, but without any further trouble on the scoreline.
