Middle Park 2-2 Altona City. Round 9.
Nik Trainor; Colin Davis, Reuben Billings, Dave MacDowell, Gordon Davies;
Robin Tunderman, Mark Stone, Evan Dunn (Owen Walker, 75), Steve Brooks (Guillaume Cohen, 60); Will Bleakley, Michael Roberts.
In an entertaining game a share of the spoils was probably a fair result.
MPFC started well - putting pressure on the Altona defence, particularly down the left. Midway through the half this pressure lead to a mistake at the back from Altona as Will latched onto a short backpass, rounded the keeper and put it on a plate for Robbo to score on his first game back.
Alton tied the scores shortly after with a well timed finish from their striker, but probably against the run of play.
The game continued to flow with Colin and Gordon having good battles with their respective numbers and the central midfielders of Robin and Stoney playing some good stuff.
Late in the first half Robbo returned the favour to Will and set him up, which Will converted from a tight angle.
If MPFC had the better of the first half, Altona had the better of the first 20 mins of the second and grabbed an equaliser after a number of chances.
After that both teams had good chances to win it, of note Dave McDowell cracking a 30 yarder of the underside of the bar that almost snapped it in two.
