OurJunior Programs
Following a very successful launch in 2010, Middle Park Football Club continues to grow its three Junior programs (i.e. Intraclub, Miniroos, Junior Leagues) with 30 teams in 2025 (including 9 girls teams).
Responding to great demand for a junior football program in and around the Port Phillip area, the Club offers football programs for children aged between 4 and 18 years old (and a pathway to our Seniors).
Expressions of interest are now open for the 2025 season.
We offer three junior programs:
Program 1: Intraclub Program (social football)
Our Intraclub program (ages 4-10) is a fun, non-competitive environment in which to introduce kids to football. Players are organised in relatively small groups of up 16 players with a “game leader”. In an hour long session, the MPFC game leader will take the kids through a warm up followed by practical exercises and skill development. The aim is to let the kids learn by doing and playing, with minimal coaching from the game leaders. At the end of each session the group plays a small sided game where the players can practice the skills they learned during the sessions. This is a fantastic way to introduce your child to football.

Program 2: Miniroos Program (competitive football)
Teams (U7-U11) play "Home & Away" matches against local clubs. However, scores are not kept during matches and the focus is very much on skill development and enjoyment. Minroos coaching is based on enjoyment and freedom of expression for kids, with a focus on fun and learning the core elements of working in a team. Program 3: Junior Leagues Program (competitive league football)
From U12-U18, when scores and results are registered to a league, players become exposed to dealing with winning and losing in a positive and sporting manner. Click here to find out more about the Junior Leagues Program.
What Can You Expect
Beyond observing our values and comprehensive Code of Conduct for players, there is an expectation that children are participating to develop their love of football, learn what it’s like to be part of a team & have fun. They are also making a commitment to regularly attend training nights, games and listen to their coach! It is important for our club & our community that our Code of Conduct is kept in mind & respected throughout the season.
Become a Volunteer!
MPFC is a great community club that is completely reliant on volunteer power. Everyone is expected to contribute in some capacity during the season:
Please tell us if you are eager to step up for coaching and managing duties, refereeing, lines person duties (U12 and up) etc. Without a parent coach (or 2) and manager (or 2) stepping up from each team, our Miniroos and Junior League teams would not exist.
If you’re not able to be a coach or be a team manager, you can still help the coach at training or on game day with simple acts of support like set up, pack down, wrangling the team, bringing oranges, tidying equipment etc.
You could also become part of the Committee or assist them in their duties such as ordering equipment, uniforms and trophies, sourcing sponsorship, arranging friendlies or participation in gala days, assisting at club events (BBQ’s, pizza nights), sending out communications to the families and coordinating registrations etc.
Please indicate your willingness to volunteer to middleparkfc.juniors@gmail.com.
